With deep sorrow and abiding love, we announce the passing of Dr. Paul E. Antalik, a dedicated ENT-otolaryngologist who served the Pittsburgh area with exceptional skill and compassion for over five decades. Dr. Antalik passed away peacefully in the early hours of Friday, July 18, 2025, at the age of 84, following a courageous battle with end-stage pulmonary fibrosis.
Born with a healer’s heart, Paul earned his medical degree from the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine and went on to build a distinguished career that spanned more than 50 years. He served as an ear, nose, and throat doctor and trauma surgeon at AHN Forbes Regional Hospital, contributed his expertise at UPMC, and also ran his own private practice, becoming a trusted figure in the medical community.
Paul’s legacy is one of gentle strength, tireless service, and deep humanity. He cared for patients not only with his hands but with his heart, treating each individual with dignity, warmth, and genuine concern. His calm presence in the operating room and his unwavering dedication to his patients earned him the admiration of colleagues and the gratitude of generations of families.
His daughter, Eden Kellner, shared:
“It is with the heaviest heart and deepest pain that I share the passing of my father, Paul Antalik. As many of you know, my dad and I shared an incredibly close bond, and this loss is heartbreakingly raw. He passed away peacefully around 2:20 AM from end-stage pulmonary fibrosis. While the grief is immense, my mom and I take comfort in knowing that he is no longer suffering.”
In a moment that reflects both grace and symbolism, Dr. Antalik passed on the Feast of St. Camillus de Lellis, the patron saint of the sick, hospitals, nurses, and doctors—a profoundly fitting tribute to a man who spent his life caring for others.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Lisa Antalik, his daughter Eden (Dustin) Kellner, and cherished grandchildren Hudson, Onawa, and Jude. He is also remembered with love by his siblings Susan (the late Michael) Marcis and Tom (Tippi) Antalik, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and a vast network of friends and patients who were blessed to know him. He was preceded in death by his sons, Adam and Greg, whose memories remain forever in the hearts of those who loved them.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 22, 2025, from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Soxman Funeral Homes, Ltd./Roth Chapel, 7450 Saltsburg Road, Penn Hills, PA. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Wednesday, July 23, at 10:00 AM, at Mother of Sorrows Church, 4202 Old William Penn Hwy., Murrysville. Entombment will follow at Twin Valley Memorial Park, Delmont.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Dr. Antalik’s memory to the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation.
